Privacy Policy
We process your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and only to the extent necessary for providing our services.
Purposes of processing
We process your data to administer purchases, provide the Geo-Game, handle support requests and document consent. This includes contact details (email address and, if provided, name), ticket configurations, usage data of the game, payment reference numbers and communications with us. If you grant location access inside the game, we use your current position solely to calculate distances and log the ticket code plus the consent timestamp as proof. For sharing invitations we rely on a double opt-in: we store the sender’s checkbox confirmation together with delivery, confirmation and withdrawal logs (timestamp and IP address) so that we can demonstrate the recipient’s consent. Technical log data are collected when accessing the website. Analytical tools such as Google Tag Manager/Google Analytics are only activated after you have consented.
Legal bases
Processing for the purchase and execution of the game is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where we store data for tax or commercial law reasons Article 6(1)(c) GDPR applies. The operation of the website and our legitimate interest in ensuring IT security are based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. If we ask for your consent (for example for analytics cookies), Article 6(1)(a) GDPR is the legal basis.
Recipients and third-country transfers
We use carefully selected service providers to host this website and to process payments. Payment processing is handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., which may transfer data to Stripe, Inc. in the USA on the basis of the EU standard contractual clauses. In addition, IT service providers who maintain our systems may gain access to data within the scope of commissioned processing. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Storage periods and erasure
Game-related data (ticket code, configuration, progress logs) and the documentation of granted location consent (ticket code and timestamp) are deleted no later than seven days after you have fully used the ticket. Delivery and opt-in logs for sharing invitations are removed no later than seven days after the ticket was used or after the invitation expired. Communication data from support requests are kept for up to six months so we can process follow-up questions. Statutory retention periods (for example according to tax law) remain unaffected; corresponding documents are stored for up to ten years.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
Withdrawal of consent and contact
You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future—for example via the cookie banner or by contacting us at info@dalum.de. Location sharing can also be disabled directly inside the game via the “Withdraw location consent” button. Further details about cookies and consent options can be found in our Cookie & Consent Policy. If you have questions about data protection, please use the contact details in the imprint.
Additional documents
You can find more detailed information about cookies and consent management in the following document:
Terms and Conditions (AGB)
These Terms and Conditions govern all purchases of Geo-Game tickets made via this website with Christian Einhaus, Am Vogelpohl 5, 49744 Geeste, Germany (email: info@dalum.de).
Description of services and conclusion of contract
We offer digital treasure hunt experiences that are accessed with a ticket code. Displaying the product range on the website is not a legally binding offer but an invitation to place an order. By clicking the “Pay now” button you submit a binding offer. The contract is concluded once payment has been confirmed and the ticket code has been sent by email. All prices are final prices; because I am a small business pursuant to section 19 of the German VAT Act no VAT is shown. Payment is processed via Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland) or the other methods displayed during the checkout. Delivery is exclusively digital: the ticket code and configuration link are provided by email, usually within a few minutes.
Customer duties
Please ensure that the contact data you enter—especially your email address—are correct and that you can receive messages from us. Ticket codes must be kept confidential and may only be passed on to people who are meant to take part in the game. You are responsible for ensuring that players have devices with GPS reception, that local laws and safety rules are observed during the game and that the content you configure complies with applicable law.
Liability
We are liable without limitation in cases of intent, gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. In the event of slightly negligent breaches of essential contractual duties (cardinal obligations) our liability is limited to the foreseeable, typical damage. We are not liable for minor disruptions caused by third-party services that are outside of our sphere of influence (for example availability of GPS, mobile data networks or services provided by Stripe or map providers). Statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.
Dispute resolution and governing law
German law applies; mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected. If you are a merchant, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Geeste, Germany. We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in a dispute resolution procedure before a consumer arbitration board. The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.
Cancellation policy
Consumers have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within fourteen days.
Withdrawal period and consequences
The withdrawal period is fourteen days starting on the day the contract is concluded. To keep the deadline it is sufficient to send the declaration in time. If you withdraw from the contract we will refund all payments we have received from you without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days of receiving your withdrawal declaration, using the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction unless expressly agreed otherwise.
How to exercise your right
To exercise the right of withdrawal you must send us a clear declaration (for example by email to info@dalum.de) stating that you wish to withdraw from the contract. You can use the wording in the confirmation email but this is not obligatory. After receiving your message we will confirm receipt on a durable medium.
Expiry of the right for digital content
Your right of withdrawal expires if we have begun delivering the digital content before the end of the withdrawal period after you have expressly requested this and confirmed that you lose your right of withdrawal once delivery has started. This is the case when you ask for the ticket code to be sent immediately and you acknowledge the loss of the right of withdrawal during checkout.
Cookie settings
Choose which optional categories we may use. Essential cookies are required to operate the geo game.
Cookie & Consent Policy
This page explains how we use cookies and similar technologies. We separate essential functionality from optional categories (statistics, marketing). Your decision is stored with a pseudonymous ID and timestamp so that we can document it.
Technically required cookies
To run the game we store a session identifier, language/theme preferences and your cookie choice. The consent is also saved in our database (table "consents") with a pseudonymous session ID and timestamp. We use this information only to provide the service and to document your decision; we never share it with third parties.
Analytics and marketing tools
We load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics only if you opt into the statistics category. IP addresses are anonymised and the data is used solely to improve the geo game. A marketing category is prepared, but we do not run marketing scripts without your consent.
Managing your consent
You can update your choice at any time via the cookie banner or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. When you disable optional categories we log the withdrawal in our database and stop loading statistics or marketing scripts. You may also delete stored cookies in your browser to show the banner again.
