Messages & info
How intermediate targets work
Intermediate targets guide players step by step to the finale.
- Treat each one like a mini finale: choose message or quiz and fill in the content the same way.
- Players complete them in order – the last pin you place automatically becomes the final goal.
- Set only as many intermediate targets as necessary so the tour stays exciting.
- Keep at least 50 metres between targets to make every arrival clearly noticeable.
Info about hints on the way
Hints on the way always follow the next goal. The player only sees the percentage - never whether the stop is the finale with the solution or an intermediate waypoint with text or a quiz. Use them for short hints or gentle nudges:
- "Still some distance to the next goal—check the green gate to see what awaits you."
- "Almost there! Get ready for either the final solution or another puzzle."
Up to three notifications per waypoint. Each triggers once the progress reaches the value.
How the optional finale quiz works
Make the finale more exciting with a short optional multiple-choice quiz.
- The finale quiz is optional – enable it only if you want an extra challenge at the end.
- Enter your answers and mark at least one option as correct—players must get one right to finish.
- Optionally enable the secret code to let players skip the lock when they know your secret code.
- Configure a cooldown or time lock to slow down repeated guesses after wrong answers.
How the message field works
Tell players what to expect once they reach this waypoint.
- Keep the copy short and speak directly to the team to keep it personal.
- Explain the next action or hint the players should follow after reading.
- Add up to three progress notifications if you want to foreshadow upcoming events.
How the quiz question works
Write a clear question so players know what they need to answer.
- Give players a short bit of context so they understand the scenario.
- Ask the question precisely to avoid any ambiguity.
- Make sure the answer options match the way the question is phrased.
How does the time lock work?
After a wrong answer, the quiz is locked for the duration you define.
- Set how many hours/minutes players must wait after an incorrect attempt.
- During the lock the quiz can only be tried again once the timer has expired.
- Players can skip the wait instantly if you share the optional secret code.
Secret code – what is it?
The secret code ends the quiz timeout immediately after a wrong answer.
- Enable the secret code and pick a four-digit number.
- Tell players (e.g. the gift recipient) that they get the code from your external task or hint.
- Once they have it, they enter the code on the device and skip the waiting time.
