How does a Geo Game session work?

This is how the recipient or playing group experiences the Geo Game:

How does the game start? The recipient opens the game link or QR code, allows location access and sees the distance to the next point.
What do players see on the way? The map, distance display and clues guide them step by step to intermediate stops, tasks or messages.
What happens at the finish? At the final point, the prepared final message, solution word, link or surprise appears.
Can players pause? Yes. Progress is tied to the ticket so the game can continue later.

These points help buyer and recipient use the correct link:

What do I receive after purchase? You receive the ticket code and an edit link by email. Use it to build and edit the route.
Which link does the recipient get? Only the game link or QR code. The recipient sees the distance to the next point, not the “Create game” view.
How do I check before sharing? Check route, stations and texts step by step in “Create game”. Do not open the game link as a test because it can set start coordinates or progress.
Invoice, payment or issue? Contact us through the form and include the ticket code if you have one.

If location or map tracking stalls, these steps usually help:

Location not found? Enable location services, allow browser access and reload the page.
Position jumps around? Step outside briefly, wait a few seconds and turn off battery saver modes.
No mobile internet? Switch to a stronger network. The map and progress update once the connection returns.
Switching devices? That is possible, but the browser may ask again for location and cookies. Use the same ticket code.
Why does location need to be precise? The Geo-Game needs the precise device location of the player smartphone. With approximate location, targets, distances, and arrival detection may be wrong.
Android: switch from approximate to precise? Open Settings, Location, App permissions, choose Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Samsung Internet and enable “Use precise location”. Then reload dalum.de.
iPhone or iPad? Open Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services, Safari Websites or your browser, and enable “Precise Location”. Then reload the game page.
PC or laptop? Allow location in the browser and in the operating system. On Windows this is under Settings, Privacy & security, Location; also allow dalum.de in the browser.

We explain clearly which data is needed for the game:

Which data belongs to a ticket? Email, ticket code, configuration, start coordinates and progress where needed for the game.
Do we store a full walking route? No. The current position is used for distance calculation; only data needed for progress, proof and support is stored.
When is data deleted? Fully used tickets are deleted no later than after seven days; unused or unfinished tickets no later than after three years.
How do I change consent? Cookie settings are in the footer; location rights can be changed in the browser or directly in the game.

For creators, separating the links is the key point:

Which link is mine? The edit link is your editing access. Keep it private.
How do I check the route? Check stations, order, tasks, messages and final message in “Create game”. Do not play through the gift link.
When do I share QR code and link? After the “Create game” content has been checked. Then give the recipient only the game link or QR code.
Can I edit later? Yes, as long as you have the edit link and the game state allows it, you can reopen and adjust the route.

Missing information or a ticket problem? Send us a short message, ideally with the ticket code.

To get familiar with the flow, you can create or open a demo game. Each visitor session gets its own demo so others cannot overwrite your progress.
